Designed for both complete beginners and experienced players looking to explore a new variant, the zine teaches the fundamentals of mahjong through real game photography, visual examples, strategy breakdowns, scoring explanations, and hand-building theory. Topics include tile efficiency, waits, Five Block Theory, defensive play, scoring patterns, and advanced hand structure concepts rarely covered in beginner materials.
Unlike traditional rulebooks, Mahjong for Everyone blends instructional design with underground zine aesthetics inspired by punk rock, DIY culture, and community gaming spaces. Every page was designed from the ground up using original layouts, photographs, diagrams, and teaching materials developed through live instruction at SDMC events.
This bundle also includes the official SDMC Zung Jung Cheat Sheet for fast in-game reference during live play.
